About this Journal

♥Thankyou♥

So I was just testing out a new journal design. Nothing really interesting to say.. I fancied a bit of a change for spring. I am always mystified how a fleeting idea to change one's CSS turns into a Night-Long slog, of Edits, testing, code-fiddling, image tweaking and brain-deadening. So, 4 Hours into this Journal Update, Its nearly all finished. I had just got to the bottom after completing my Smoking-Ban rant, and the Power trips out!! :|
Okay. After staring open mouthed at the blank screen for about 5 minutes while the horror of losing all this work sunk in, I put the Kettle on, looked at the time (1:27am) and decide to start ALL OVER AGAIN.. I was gonna be a long night, so i thought.

But Guess what i saw when i started firefox? A wonderful wonderful message telling me that my last session crashed unexpectedly, and would i like to restore my last session?

Yes! Oh god, Yes! I thought "Surely my journal will not still be intact?" But it IS! Honestly, this program never ceases to amaze me...

Just thought i would share that with you..

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I feel an apology is order to some of my friends here on dA (and elswhere) for not paying you visits and commenting o your work, or relying to and thanking for Faves.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

This has probably been the worst two weeks ever in work for me. The staff have been dropping like flies with Gastric Flu and covering the shortages has been a nightmare. I have seen more of work this past fortnight than i have of my own family. I fear this will probably continue for a few more weeks, so alas my time here is very limited. I have got one more day off before i get back to it, so i will try and get around to all of you asap.

For those of you who live in the UK, don't forget that tonight (Saturday) We have to take part in the bizarre practice of putting our clocks forward, so us Early Morning - Loathers have an hour less in bed. :shakefist: Not too bad if you don't work on a Sunday, but i happen to have chosen a profession where Sunday is the start of the new working week and lie-ins are a thing of folklore and shrouded in mystery.

But Hey-Ho! At least spring has arrived. We know this by the Gale-force winds, pounding rain, -8° temperatures and severe ground frosts. I wouldn't put the woolly tights away yet, girls.

On a completely different subject, that probably won't interest half the population of clean-living No-Smokers, but its my journal, and i'll whinge if i want to :lol; - The Dreaded Smoking Ban comes into force here in 10 days time. Yours truly will be consigned to the street if i ever fancy a Pint, or a Fag Break in work (Yes, Fag is the common word for Cigarette in the UK, so no funny remarks :|) I also face a £70 fine if i light up in public. Some of you, hate smoking and are in favour of a Ban, but for those of us Fag-Lepers who are struggling to cope with the thought of it, Have a look at these sites which are full of the real facts about smoking, not just the scaremongering media perspective. They offer support to those who feel its OUR right to choose too. I think us smokers deserve a voice and these sites can help you get it.

:police: PLEASE HOVER FOR DISCLAIMER :police:
My opinions are my own and i have a right to express them. I do not wish to be subject to trolling or hate mail because of my views on Smoking. I am not condoning smoking nor am i trying to influence anyone to start. The NHS has a quitline that you can call on 0800 169 0 169, and the US Surgeon General has a Quitline on 1-800-QUITNOW. I am however all for Healthy civilised Debate and personal expression, and welcome any real debate/support on this topic

Well thats the end of this Communique. I hope i don't click ADD only to find some horror like deviantART being in read only mode. I think that would just about drive me to drink

Bye for Now
:blowkiss:

I wont give up because:

♦ I don't want to,

♦ I shouldn't be forced into giving up/or being fined for using a perfectly legal product which contributes $10 billion in taxes?. I think police should spend more time looking for the dealers of illegal drugs such as Heroin, Crack and Cannabis.

♦ I am supposed to be living in a free country

And as for the hover thing, its in this news article by =dot-Silver Its here > [link]

I encouraged my girlfriend to give up smoking. She hasn't had a cigarette in almost 2-3 months!

Say if a packet costs $4 USD (dunno what that is in Pounds XD) and you have a packet say... every 2 days. That's almost $800 saved. That's 10 years of dA subscriptions in one year. That's 8 months of rent here (around my area XD), 266 pots of beer..

Yeah I should shut up and quit annoying you with statistics. But I hate going drinking at the pub and coming home smelling like crap. Thank god for smoking bans! :D

(That's just my opinion. Take it or leave it. No disrespect meant etc. etc. but I wanted to just remind everyone of how expensive it can be XD)

I haven't had a cigarette in one whole year now, YAY for me :D but I do still miss them :(
I'm so proud of you! I don't know you, but I'm proud of you! As I said, my girlfriend smoked for 3 years and works in a place where EVERYONE smokes. All of her friends do it too.. She's only slipped up twice in the (almost) 4 months since we've been together. And both times it's been from peer pressure and workplace idiots who are determined to see her fail :aww:

Keep it up! You'll get there eventually and I bet you're already pleased with the results :D

yeah, I am pleased that I quit, I smoked for over 30 years, and I quit cold turkey. :O
Wow. Cold Turkey isn't as delicious as it sounds. You did really well :D

i understand how the no smoking ban will upset you, being a smoker, but i think it is for the better of health in main-stream public. Have they made alternative arrangements so that smokers DO have -somewhere- to light up? Else it would seem a tad unfair and unjust - telling someone they cant do something somewhere and offering no alternative instead, thus keeping peace?

ay me, politics these days!
alas you still have another ten, if not 9 or 8 by now, days left for you to light up as much as you can in public without fine :)

If i still live in a pub.. I would be "No ban!!"... but I feel like punching people who light up in bus stops so i have to walk away to stop my self choking... Why in the street though? its all open and stuff. It still irrates me there but theres no reason to ban it in the street... Uch, I'm currently dealing with it in college, the smoking hut may not be the right distance from the door... *sigh* I wouldn't mind things going back to how they were, and to be honest, it probably would if some smokers werent idiots.. *Lighting up on bus's... in bus stops near little kids etc.*

No ranting!

*ahem*...

Don't for get the snow, we've had the fun of snow as well...

And i do so love that FF restore thing!
