_{The time has come to brave the depths of the Attic/Spare Room.
Navigate around the defunct exercise bikes,
old L.P's, the graveyard of broken telly's, vacuum cleaners and ironing boards,
boxes of crapola that you will never need again all to find that dusty old black bag full of decorations,
and rescue bits of far flung plastic tree. Only you won't find anything.
Why? Because in January this year, you were so pissed off
with the entangled bits of tinsel, knotted lights and bouncing baubles,
that you literally just ripped it all down in anger and stuffed it into various bags
that since have probably gone out in the rubbish.
Men always take the trimmings down. Men get angry. Men are heavy handed.
Which is why when you plug your lights in; there are always 2 that are blown.
You then have the agonising task of going through each bulb to see which the evil one is. (TIP.. It will always be the very last one)
There's the cries of despair as the little fairy that goes on top
is discovered to have suffered a decapitation sometime around June
when someone was looking for something in the dark.
Naturally, you will salvage enough to get a bit of Festive Cheer evident, and lug it downstairs, dragging dust, bits of insulation wool,
old Bunty magazines, a stray toy pony and (disconcertingly)
a few specie of exotic insect along with you.

You will then spend 4 hours arranging trimmings,
mumbling under your breath and cursing.
That's because you're only wearing socks and you keep treading on those deadly spiky fairy light covers,
that strangely your lights never came with.
There will be another trip to the attic/spare room halfway through to frantically find the plastic gold decoration that has been in your family for centons.
That won't be there either.
That's because it's in the kitchen drawer.
Not the one with all the cutlery in it, but the other drawer.
The one with all the junk in like broken pens, lighters, rolls of sellotape,
blunt scissors, some ancient keys etc. You know which drawer I mean. I know you have one. We all do.

People will thoughtlessly call round or phone when your living room is upside down,
with sideboards, Telly's and sofas all piled up in the middle of the room as you make a space for your tree.
They will boast how their decks have been up since November.
Arseholes.
As soon as your tree is finished, you will need the extension cord.
Which you can't find.
Then you slowly realise its doing the essential job of keeping your fridge running.
Hence the precarious and delicate moving of the tree to a plug point as you scream in agony (yes, another fairy light cover in your foot)
Eventually, it will all be done.
The lights will be on, the twinkling giving you a warm festive glow inside.
After the clean up and settling down to a nice glass of port, you suddenly realise you haven't seen the cat for 8 hours.
That's because Cat is in the attic.
So after 2 hours of coaxing out Cat,
he sails effortlessly through hatch and straight downstairs and
up the Christmas tree. This then topples over and blows all the lights.
My only advice?

Finish off the port, have a mince pie (or 3) and
let the Man sort it out in the morning.

EDIT!
I Might dissapear unexpectedly for a few days at anytime as
my CPU Fan is broke and i have to replace it.

Im working on borrowed time with this thing before it blows. So if i dont reply to any messages, notes, comments or queries within a few days,
then you will know my computer is broke'd
I will also be replacing it myself so If you never hear from me again,
its because i blew myself up!

To anyone here who was a great fan of SashaGeorge We were very sad to hear that she has left dA without telling anyone. (It was put in an edited journal entry).
